Located in the southwestern part of the region, 15 km north-east of Shumyachey , 21 km north of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (“Old Polish” or “Varshavka”), on the banks of the Terebrevka river . The railway station Ponyatovka on the Roslavl - Krichev line is located 24 km south of the village.

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
