It is located in the southwestern part of the region, 12 km southeast of Shumyachy , 9 km south of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (Old Poland or Warsaw). 5 km northwest of the village is the Krivoles railway station on the Roslavl - Krichev line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
