Located in the southwestern part of the region, 8 km south-east of Khislavichi , 36 km west of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Belitsa River. 36 km east of the village there is a railway station Krapivenskaya on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
