It is located in the southwestern part of the region 18 km southwest of Khislavichi , 52 km west of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Gorodnya river. 52 km east of the village is the Stodolishche railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
