It is located in the southwestern part of the region, 23 km southwest of Khislavichi , 53 km west of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Chernyavka River. Krapivenskaya railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line is located 53 km east of the village.
History
