Geographical position

Located in the southwestern part of the region, 7 km east of Khislavichi , 25 km west of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Krasnaya River. The railway station Stodolische on the Smolensk - Roslavl line is located 26 km east of the village.

History

In the list of populated places of the Smolensk province (data of 1859) it is listed as the village of Bestvenka . 11 yards and 86 inhabitants [1] .

On a map with data from 1871, it is designated 2 km east of the current location. On this map, it is located at the source of the Bestvenka (Pronya) creek, a tributary of the Dukhovaya River, and interlocks with Prilepovka . Approximately on the site of the modern village there was a village called Seledtsovka (Selidtsevka) , which is also in the list of populated places [2] .

On the map of the Red Army of 1924, 1926, the Bedsweep is named and is located in a modern place, at the source of the Krasnaya River . Seledtsevka on this map is no longer available.

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [3] .

In 1963, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the village of Bedevestka of the Monastyrschinskogo rural region was renamed the village of Krasnaya [4] .

In the directory of the administrative-territorial division of the Smolensk region of 1983, it was marked under different names: in one place as Red , in the other - as Disaster . By the time the handbook was compiled (1978), it was part of the Vladimir Selsovet of the Hislavichsky district [5] .
