It is located in the eastern part of the region, 26 km north-west of Temkin , 16 km south of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Tepluha river. 12 km south of the village is the Zhizhalo railway station on the Vyazma - Kaluga line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
