Located in the western part of the region, 9 km south of Smolensk , 4 km west of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the bank of the Sozh River . The railway station Tychinino on the Smolensk - Roslavl line is located 10 km north-east of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
