It is located in the western part of the region 10 km south-east of Smolensk , 0.1 km east of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway. 6.5 km north-east of the village is the Tychinino railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
