Located in the western part of the region, 31 km west of Smolensk , 1 km south of the M1 Belarus road, on the banks of the Radovka River. The railway station Velino on the Moscow - Minsk line is located 0.5 km south-east of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
