It is located in the western part of the region, 8 km south-east of Smolensk , 5 km east of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Nagat River. 2 km east of the village is the Tychinino railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
