Located in the western part of the region, 18 km south-west of Smolensk , 18 km south of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Lostovka River. 24 km north of the village is located Dachnaya-1 railway station on the Smolensk- Vitebsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
