It is located in the western part of the region 16 km south-east of Smolensk , 4 km east of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway. 5 km north of the village is the Tychinino railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line . According to the list of populated areas of the Smolensk province, according to the information of 1859 [1] it stands on the right side of the Roslavl old tract.
History
Until 1943, the village was called Argunova Sloboda.
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [2] .
