It is located in the western part of the region, 6 km north-east of Smolensk , 1 km south of the Belarus highway M1 . 8 km south-east of the village is the Smolensk-Sortirovochny railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
