Located in the western part of the region, 7 km east of Smolensk , 5 km south of the P134 highway “The Old Smolensk Road” Smolensk - Dorogobuzh - Vyazma - Zubtsov , on the bank of the Stroganka River. 1.5 km west of the village is the railway station Valutino on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
