It is located in the western part of the region, 23 km west of Smolensk , 4 km south of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Vyazovna river. 3 km north-east of the village is the railway station Vonlyarovo on the line Moscow - Minsk .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
