Geography
It is located in the western part of the region 21 km west of Smolensk , 2 km south of the highway A141 Orel - Vitebsk , on the banks of the Dnieper River . 1 km north of the village is the railway station Vonlyarovo on the line Moscow - Minsk .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
