It is located in the western part of the region 36 km west of Smolensk , 4 km south of the M1 Belarus highway, on the banks of the Gusinka River. 6 km northwest of the village is the Gusino railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
