It is located in the western part of the region 30 km northwest of Smolensk , 4 km north of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Lelekva River. 1.5 km south-east of the village is the Lelekvinskaya railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
