Located in the western part of the region, 13 km south-east of Rudny , 3 km south of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Olshanka River. The railway station Ploskaya on the Smolensk- Vitebsk line is located 2 km north-west of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in October 1943 . [one]
