Located in the western part of the region, 16 km south-east of Rudny , 6 km north of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Grebelka River. 6 km south of the village there is a railway station Golynky on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in October 1943 . [one]
