It is located in the western part of the region 15 km southeast of Rudny , 2 km north of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Olshanka River. At 2.5 km south-west of the village is the railway station O.p. 439th km on the line Smolensk - Vitebsk .
History
During the years of World War II, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in October 1943 . [one]
