It is located in the western part of the region, 40 km north-west of Rudny , 37 km west of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway. In 41 km south-east of the village there is a railway station Rudnya on the Smolensk- Vitebsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in October 1943 . [one]
