It is located in the western part of the region, 42 km north-west of Rudny , 28 km west of the R133 Smolensk - Nevel highway, on the banks of the Kaspla River. Rudnya railway station is located 43 km southeast of the village on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the years of World War II, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in October 1943 . [one]
