It is located in the western part of the region, 18 km north of Rudnya, 6 km north-west of the P130 Demidov -Rudnya highway, on the banks of the Rutavech River. 20 km south of the village is located the Rudnya railway station on the Smolensk- Vitebsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in October 1943 . [one]
