It is located in the western part of the region 9 km south of Rudny , 12 km south of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway. 10 km north-east of the village is the Rudnya railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the years of World War II, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in October 1943 . [one]
