It is located in the southern part of the region, 53 km north-east of Roslavl , 26 km north of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (“Old Polish” or “Varshavka”). The railway station Zheglovka on the Smolensk - Sukhinichi line is located 20 km north of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
