It is located in the southern part of the region, 50 km north-east of Roslavl , 22 km north of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (Old Polish or Warsaw), on the banks of the Solozh River. 25 km north of the village is the railway station Zheglovka on the line Smolensk - Sukhinichi .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
