It is located in the southern part of the region, 52 km north-east of Roslavl , 24 km north of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (Old Polish or Warsaw), on the banks of the Solozh River. 23 km north of the village is the Zheglovka railway station on the Smolensk - Sukhinichi line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
“Leaving the army for the chief of staff, Efremov personally led the 12,000th group of three erupted divisions. On February 1, 1942, the 113th Infantry Division reached the Dashkovka District, the 160th Division - the Lyado District and the 338th Division - the Vorobyovka District. [2] (p. 92)
Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Dobrynin was born in the village.
