It is located in the southern part of the region, 14 km northwest of Roslavl , 1 km east of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Krapivnya river. 1 km west of the village is the Krapivenskaya railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
