Located in the southern part of the region, 10 km west of Roslavl , 4 km north of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway ("Old Polish" or "Varshavka"), on the banks of the Rydyga River. In 9 km south-east of the village is located railway station Samolyubovka on the line Roslavl - Krichev .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
