It is located in the southern part of the region, 20 km north-east of Roslavl , 4 km south of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway, on the banks of the Oster River. At 19 km south-west of the village is the Kozlovka railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
