It was located in the southern part of the region, 24 km north-east of Roslavl , 5 km north of the P137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway, on the bank of the Oster River. 20 km south-west of the village there was a railway station Krapivenskaya on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
From December 28, 2004 was part of Kostyryevsky rural settlement [2] .
The village of Krutsovka was abolished by the law of the Smolensk region on November 26, 2009 [3] .
