It is located in the southern part of the region, 12 km south-west of Roslavl , 7 km south of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (Old Poland or Warsaw), on the banks of the Kolpita River. 4 km north-west of the village is the Samolyubovka railway station on the Roslavl - Krichev line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
