It is located in the southern part of the region, 8 km southwest of Roslavl , 1 km north of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (Old Polish or Warsaw), on the banks of the Rydyga River. 4 km northeast of the village is the Astapkovichi railway station on the Roslavl - Krichev line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
