It is located in the central part of the region 33 km southeast of Pochinka , 33 km east of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Dunya River. 30 km west of the village is the Engelhardt railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .


History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
