It is located in the central part of the region 21 km southeast of Pochinka , 8 km west of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway. 10 km south-east of the village is the railway station Stodolische on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
