It is located in the central part of the region 5 km west of Pochinka , 2 km west of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Khmara River. 6 km east of the village is the Pochinok railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
