History
Seltso Bulovitsy was part of the patrimonial estate of the Verkhovskys - an ancient noble family of the Smolensk province. Together with the village of Lobkovo, it was inherited by the father of the elder Zosima - Vasily (Bogdan) Danilovich Verkhovsky, the youngest of the brothers. The estate here was small: the house was "wooden on a stone foundation on one floor." It has twelve rooms, a balcony, tiled stoves, two fireplaces. Three stone wings, pantries, barns, barns and huts for courtyards, a stable, a forge. The whole estate stood on the western shore of the pond, but in the middle of the 19th century it was moved to the northern shore. In the 1920s, the estate was ruined [1] .
Since 1787, the village was owned by the family of the daughter of V. D. Verkhovsky, Pelageya, who married Semyon Ivanovich Povalo-Shveikovsky. Here was born their first-born Ivan, in the future - a brilliant military and Decembrist.
The village during the Great Patriotic War was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [2] .
