It is located in the central part of the region, 23 km southeast of Pochinka , 6 km east of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Belichek River. 7 km south-west of the village is the Stodolische railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
