It is located in the central part of the region, 20 km south-east of Pochinka , 0.5 km east of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway, on the banks of the Stomet River . 4 km south of the village is the Stodolishche railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
