It is located in the north-eastern part of the region 21 km south-west of Novodugin , 12 km west of the P134 Staraya Smolenskaya road, Smolensk - Dorogobuzh - Vyazma - Zubtsov , on the banks of the Popovka River. At 16 km southeast of the village is the railway station O.p. The 232nd km on the Vyazma - Rzhev line .

Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Ivanov was born in the village.

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
