Located in the western part of the region, 32 km south-west of Monastyrschina , 36 km south of the P135 highway ( Smolensk - Krasny - Gusino), on the banks of the Lynya River. The railway station Gusino on the Moscow - Minsk line is located 51 km north of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
