Located in the western part of the region, 23 km south-west of Monastyrschina , 56 km west of the A141 Oryol - Vitebsk road, on the bank of the Vihra river. The railway station Vaskovo on the Smolensk - Roslavl line is located 62 km east of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
