It is located in the western part of the region 10 km southeast of the Monastery , 35 km west of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway. 42 km east of the village is the Vaskovo railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
In the village of Slivino in 1812, the famous Belarusian ethnogrof, archaeologist, publicist and publisher Adam Honoriy Kirkor (1812 - 1886) was born. During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [1] During the retreat of the Nazi forces, Slivino was burned by the Nazis and collaborationists.
