It is located in the western part of the region 15 km east of the Monastery , 23 km west of the A141 Orel - Vitebsk highway. 25 km east of the village is the Engelhardt railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
In 1978, it was part of the Barsukovsky village council of the Monastyrshchinsky district [2]
In 1993, the Sychevsky village council of the Monastyrshchinsky district [3] .
