It is located in the western part of the region 13 km southwest of Krasnoye , 15 km southwest of the P135 highway ( Smolensk - Krasny - Gusino ), on the banks of the Yelenka River. At 20 km north-west of the village is the railway station O.p. 478th km on the line Moscow - Minsk .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
