Located in the western part of the region, 22 km south-west of Krasny , 21 km south of the M1 Belarus road, on the banks of the Mereya River. 20 km north-west of the village there is the Krasnoye railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
