Plauny is a village in the Krasninsky district of the Smolensk region of Russia . It is part of the Maleevsky rural settlement [1] . Until June 5, 2017 [2] was part of the Glubokinsky rural settlement [3] .

The population is 27 inhabitants ( 2007 ).
Geography
It is located in the western part of the region, 14 km north-west of Krasnoye , 10 km south of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Mereya River. At 9 km north-west of the village is the railway station O.p. 478th km on the line Moscow - Minsk .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [four]
