It is located in the western part of the region, 13 km south-east of Krasny , 17 km south of the P135 highway ( Smolensk - Krasny - Gusino ), on the bank of the Kubrot River. 33 km north of the village is the Velino railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Hitler's troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
